Annual grant funding programme

Laleston Community Council operates an annual grant programme for local groups and projects serving residents of Laleston, Broadlands, Cefn Glas and Bryntirion. Grants support community-led activity that complements the Council’s wider work.

Applications are welcomed from constituted community groups, voluntary organisations, sports clubs, schools and community-led projects active within the Council’s wards. Commercial and individual applicants are not eligible.

Funding can support: equipment, venue hire, training, community events, materials, and project running costs. Funding is generally NOT available for: ongoing salaries, profit-making activity, or projects already fully funded.

Grant applications open at a defined point each year and are decided by Council in budget cycle. Specific dates are published on the Council’s News & Notices page when the window opens.

Applications are submitted to the Clerk and considered by the Finance Committee, with final award decisions made at Full Council. Applications should include: project description, budget breakdown, expected outcomes, and how the project benefits residents.

Successful applicants are asked to provide a brief end-of-project report covering how funds were used and what was achieved. Reports help the Council monitor impact and inform future funding rounds.
