What we’ve delivered for the community

Projects the Council has delivered for the community in recent years. Each project benefited residents across the Council’s wards through improved community spaces, heritage preservation, and biodiversity-friendly initiatives.

Wildflower planting at Broadlands — one of the Council's recent biodiversity projects

The Council supported the creation of a sensory garden at Bryntirion Infants School — a learning resource for the school and a green improvement for the community. Plants were selected for sensory engagement and biodiversity value.

Wildflower planting at Broadlands — supporting pollinators (bees, butterflies, moths) and contributing to the Council’s Section 6 biodiversity duty under the Environment (Wales) Act 2016.

Improved signage at the Broadlands teen park, helping visitors locate the space and clarifying its facilities and use.

Initial signage and waymarkers for the Laleston Stones Trail — a self-guided heritage walk through the historic centre of Laleston village. Now developed further as an active project.

Through the annual grant programme, the Council has funded a range of community-led initiatives including sports clubs, school projects, voluntary groups and youth work. See the Grant Funding page for current programme details.
