Walking routes and outdoor spaces

Walking routes, footpaths and outdoor spaces in and around Laleston. The Council manages a number of local routes and works with Bridgend County Borough Council and Natural Resources Wales on broader paths.

Below are walks the Council recommends. Detailed maps and route notes will be added as we compile them — in the meantime, the Stones Trail (a self-guided heritage trail through Laleston village) is the best place to start.

A self-guided heritage trail through the historic centre of Laleston, taking in St David’s Church (Grade I), the listed schoolhouse, the Old Pound at Llangewydd, and the Village Well. Approximately 2km · estimated 45 minutes at walking pace.

The new community park at Bryntirion is scheduled for completion as part of the Council’s flagship project. Walking routes through the park will be added when it opens.

Public Rights of Way across the Laleston, Broadlands, Cefn Glas and Bryntirion wards are maintained by Bridgend County Borough Council. The full PROW map is published by Bridgend.

The Council’s allotment site at Bryntirion can be visited by appointment for those interested in joining the waiting list.
