Planning in Laleston

The Council is a statutory consultee on planning applications affecting the parish — it does not decide them. Bridgend County Borough Council is the planning authority and processes all applications.

When Bridgend County Borough Council (BCBC) receives a planning application within the Council’s boundaries, it consults Laleston Community Council for comments. Members review the application at the next ordinary Full Council meeting and submit a response within the statutory consultation period.

Live planning applications and case files are published on Bridgend County Borough Council’s planning portal. The portal lets you view applications, read submitted documents, and follow planning decisions.

Planning applications are tabled at the next Full Council meeting after BCBC’s consultation request is received. Members consider each application against material planning considerations and the Council’s adopted policies, and a response is then submitted on the Council’s behalf within the consultation deadline.

The Council’s planning responses are recorded in the minutes of the Full Council meeting at which each application was considered. Past minutes are available on the Full Council meetings page.
