Chair Names Marie Curie as Charity of the Year for 2026

Chair Vivienne James has chosen Marie Curie as her Charity of the Year for 2026, with a focus that keeps donations where they are needed most — in Bridgend and Porthcawl.

Marie Curie provides vital end-of-life care and support to people living with a terminal illness, and to their families. By directing fundraising specifically to the Bridgend and Porthcawl area, the Chair wants to ensure that every pound raised by residents stays local, making a difference to people in our own communities.
