Laleston’s 800-Year Story Explored at St David’s Church Hall

As part of Laleston’s 800-year celebrations, residents gathered at St David’s Church Hall for a talk by historian and author Graham Loveluck-Edwards on King Arthur and the dark-ages saints — a fascinating window into the deep roots of this part of Wales.

Loveluck-Edwards, whose books cover Welsh history and folklore, guided the audience through the legends and historical threads that connect our landscape to some of the most enduring stories in Welsh culture. The event formed part of the Glamorgan History Walks 2026 programme.

Council Chair Vivienne James attended the talk, reflecting the council’s support for Laleston’s 800-year programme of events.

Copies of Loveluck-Edwards’ books were available on the evening for those wanting to explore further.

Laleston has a remarkable history, and events like this are a fitting part of the 800-year programme. We look forward to sharing more with you throughout the year.
