Our Projects
Every year Laleston Community Council invest in small and medium sized projects to brighten up our community, such as wayside benches, bus shelters, grit bins, hanging baskets, litter bins, summer play scheme, community notice boards, and an ongoing annual investment in our Christmas illuminations, OAP Christmas Lunch, Bio-Diversity, Bryntirion fireworks display and Broadlands Fun Day.

March 11, 2017Llangewydd School Multi Use Games Area
Laleston Community Council has just completed the installation of a Multi Use Games Area for Llangewydd Juniors. The new Multi Use Games Area will be open for community use outside of school hours, whilst providing an excellent facility for the school during school hours.

A full project was undertaken to record the historic routes pilgrims would have taken through our community to Llangynwyd, famous as the burial place of Ann Thomas, the “Maid of Cefn Ydfa”, but in the Middle Ages it was famous as the shrine of the Holy Rood of Llangynwyd, a carving of the Crucifixion that was so vivid it was believed to perform miracles.

Following a representation from young persons of the village, it has funded the supply and erection of a Multi Use Games Area [MUGA] to accommodate tennis, basketball, netball and five aside soccer. This facility is shared with Trelales Primary School whose pupils have sole use during school term time/hours. The general public has use during evenings, weekends and all school holidays.
