Laleston Community Council

Minutes of the Extraordinary Meeting of Laleston Community Council held at Bryntirion & Laleston Community Centre on 3 June 2024, commencing at 7.00pm.

Present:. Cllr’s Z Blundell, D Harrison, I Spiller, S Philpin, C Smith and C Webster.

In attendance:  Gail Jewell

1.  19.1466    Representation from members of the public. 

A member of the public was in attendance in relation to the item on the agenda.

Mr Ashong introduced himself as a skateboarder and a previous owner of a skatepark and explained that he would like to be of assistance in the consultation of the Bryntirion Playing Fields.

Resolved:  Council thanked Mr Ashong for his input and confirmed that he will be included during the consultation phase.

2.  19.1467    Apologies for absence. Cllr A Berrow, JP Blundell, C Davies, P King, S Richmond, V James.

3.  19.1468    Declarations of Interest.  None.

Cllr I Spiller – Personal interest in Item 4 – as a County Borough Councillor for Bridgend, who are the current landowners of Bryntirion Playing Fields.

Cllr D Harrison – Personal interest in Item 4 – as a County Borough Councillor for Bridgend – who are the current landowners of Bryntirion Playing Fields.

4.  19.1469   To review and agree draft design for Bryntirion Playing Fields prior to progressing to public consultation.

Cllr I Spiller thanked Reach, Geoff Whittington and Council on the progress made to date on the Bryntirion Playing Fields Masterplan.

Resolved:  Council reviewed the draft design for Bryntirion Playing Fields and agreed to progress to public consultation on the concept drawing provided.  Proposed by Cllr I Spiller and seconded by Cllr D Harrison.  

There being no further business, the meeting ended at 7.12pm.

The next meeting will be held on Thursday 20 June 2024 and will commence at 7.00pm.
