Minutes of the Extraordinary Meeting of Laleston Community Council held remotely in accordance with the provisions of the Local Authorities (Coronavirus)(Meetings)(Wales) Regulations 2020 on Thursday 27 May 2021 commencing at 7.00pm (or following the Annual Meeting of Council).

Present:, Cllr’s A Berrow, JP Blundell, B Davies, C Davies, M Fouracre, C Green, T Green, G Richard-Hemmings, C Smith, I Spiller and D Wooldridge.

In attendance: Clerk – Gail Jewell

1 19.416 Apologies for Absence: Cllr’s P Davies and N Adams.

2. 19.417 Declaration of Interests: No declarations received.

3. 19.418 To consider Planning Application P/21/379/FUL – Broadlands Shopping Precinct.

The Clerk presented a draft response collated from previous comments made by Members. The letter outlined the divergence from the Broadlands District Centre Development Brief; issues of concern to the wider community as a result of the development proposals and additional provisions that should be provided for the benefit of the local community if the planning proposals were accepted.

Resolved: Following debate, Council agreed to outline an alternative use for the land in question. Members propose that the land is turned into a new car park to allow a change of use of the existing car park to an are for outdoor eating with canopies and heaters, which would provide well needed outdoor space for the already in situ bars and restaurants.

There being no further business, the meeting ended at 06.40 pm.

The next meeting will be held remotely on Thursday 27 May April 2021.
