ASSISTANT CLERK (AVERAGE OF 16 HOURS PER WEEK)

ACTUAL SALARY: £15.16 – £17.05 per hour (Grade 24 Points 24-28)

Laleston Community Council is seeking to appoint an Assistant Clerk to join a small team, led by the Clerk. 

Working from the Council’s Office, located in Bryntirion Community Centre, the job holder will support the Clerk with the effective running of the Council and its assets, including Bryntirion Community Centre, Blandy Hall, Laleston Allotments, 3 children’s play parks, and 2 MUGAs (Multi Use Games Areas).

They will need to have a positive, flexible attitude, be able to meet deadlines whilst balancing priorities, be self-motivated, be community minded and deal empathetically with members of the public in representing the Community Council.

The role requires good numeracy / literacy skills together with competent IT skills.  Ideally applicants will have experience in administration and financial management in a local government environment and knowledge of local government law and procedures.  It is essential that the successful candidate has a willingness to pursue ongoing training opportunities.

Hours of work will be on set weekdays (to be agreed with the successful candidate) as well as regular evening work and occasional weekends.
